Catalogue Note
The rosette bezel — petals of gold wire and sheet opening out around a central setting — is a form that travelled the length of the Silk Road. Here the petals are edged in fine twisted wire and the band below is pierced all the way round with small round openings, which lightens a ring that would otherwise be heavy for its size.
It reads 84 per cent gold by XRF, just over 20 karat — richer and warmer in colour than 18-karat gold. Ring size 9 (US). Priced by weight.
